Jio developed it's own 5G technology and design, asking for testing permission. The first indigenous company to do so

The government may not be able to auction 5G spectrum, but now the Indian telecom company has shown interest in testing this technology for the first time.
Reliance Jio has sought permission from the government for 5G testing.  For this, he himself has developed technology and design.

According to sources, if this test is successful, then the work of designing and manufacturing the equipment can be given to other companies.

For this, the company has decided to include Chinese giants Huawei Technologies, Ericsson and Nokia Networks along with Samsung.

Earlier, the company believed in Samsung.  Samsung itself is supplying devices for 4G services to Jio.  Samsung got this opportunity even after aggressive bidding and stiff competition from Chinese companies.

A spokesperson for Reliance-Geo declined to comment.  However, this step of Reliance is very important because foreign companies have always dominated the design and manufacturing of telecom equipment.

Most of the equipment has been imported from abroad.  The government is also emphasizing on developing local capacity in design and manufacturing of telecom equipment.

In 2018, TRAI gave suggestions to encourage local telecom equipment manufacturers.
