2. If you see a thumbnail in the corner of your screen, click it to edit your screenshot. Alternatively, wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.
How to capture part of the screen
1. Press the three keys Shift, Command, and 4 at the same time.
2. Drag the crosshair to select the area of the screen you want to capture. To move the selection, hold down the spacebar and drag. Press the Esc (escape) key to stop taking a screenshot.

Where to find Screenshots
By default, screenshots are saved to your desktop with the name "Screenshot [date] at [time].png".
On macOS Mojave and later, you can change the default location for saved screenshots from the Options menu in the Screenshots app. You can also drag thumbnails into folders or documents.
